Grateful Diver Statement on Our Values and Recent Events

Recent events in Minnesota and across the United States have sparked intense and necessary conversations about immigration enforcement, human rights, and the use of state power. An image circulating online shows an immigration enforcement officer in uniform wearing a Grateful Diver hat. We want to be clear: this image does not reflect who we are, what we stand for, or the communities we serve.

At Grateful Diver, we stand for good. Good for the environment and good for people. What’s happening in Minnesota and in other places around the country is not good. No matter your stance on immigration policy, the way some of these operations are being carried out is causing real fear, trauma, and harm in families and neighborhoods. Our brand was born from a community that believes in compassion, respect, and the idea that no living thing is disposable.

We do not choose who buys or wears our products, but we reject any attempt to link Grateful Diver with cruelty, dehumanization, or abuses of power. Our mission remains rooted in protecting vulnerable environmental resources by uniting passionate outdoor enthusiasts who deeply value the natural world. We’ll continue using our platform, our art, and our resources to support communities and causes that reflect those values, in Minnesota and beyond.

“From day one, Grateful Diver has been about protecting what we love - our reefs and our communities. If our logo is on you, we hope it’s because you share that commitment to kindness, respect, and looking out for one another.” — Coley Faircloth, Founder of Grateful Diver
